Integrated marketing ideas for designers

As many people find it difficult to run the day to day activities of their business in a similar way they find it difficult to promote their business, find new clients, and bridge the gap between the clients who want good designers and designers who want new clients I’m here to help with this article where ill share some of the tactics my friend use who graduated from JD Institute just last year and started working for himself is using and has grown leaps and bounds. The following tactics have been used by him and I assure you if used properly will also give you and your brand organic growth.

1. Digital Presence

It is one of the most important aspects of being a designer that you’re present on all social media platforms and on other content sharing platforms as well so that you can easily showcase your talent to the rest of the world through such platforms. Digital presence not only makes sharing content easy but also adds to the verifiability of content as one shared is your original and people will start recognizing you through it.

For this one needs to build a professional website, an Instagram account, a Facebook account, and a Twitter account as well as regularly post content on all platforms make connections with people there, and interact with the audience in the comment or chat section.

2. Help People

Now once you have created your accounts and website don’t just start selling your products right away, there are billions of people on the web doing just that and it gets boring for the audience to see one more person doing the same thing, instead of selling start helping people with creative design ideas, educate them about your work, tell them the difference between two similar products and help them choose the correct one for themselves, if someone gets benefitted from your help they will start trusting you and your brand which is the most important factor.

Once people start coming to your page for help, then if you position your products they will start selling like hot pancakes.

3. Content is king

In the new age digital world, people love to be fed with content, they consume a lot of content daily, hence it is very important to plan your content, post new things too regularly, also people don’t easily get hooked to long-duration content hence a short duration video format is what one may bank on to get the views and target their audience.

4. Focus on SEO Friendly content

While we discussed in the previous para that content is king, however, it is important to note that one doesn’t end up making content aimlessly, for content to reach people it should be SEO is driven that way more and more people find the content when they search for similar content, also every designer has their segment/ audience hence it is very important to find your niche and focus on delivering more content on what your audience likes the most.

5. Email marketing

Email marketing is an effective way of reaching your target of new people on the blog/ website. By sending cold emails to people one can see how many leads they generate and slowly and gradually then can increase the click ratio to navigate more traffic to your website.

6. Design Eye-catching content

Your content should be designed in such a way that people stop scrolling to view your content, it should be so appealing that it leaves people asking for more information, it helps in creating a hype around your brand, which leads to people talking about your content which boosts the overall brand awareness.

7. Collaboration instead of competition

Many artists are there who are busy competing with each other, even when they have the same skill sets, same audience, the same niche hence there is no point competing as they will have to spend so much extra in advertising just to get ahead only for the other to go one step further to change the audience dynamics, it results in a waste of resources and time. Instead of this if both collaborate to make something together, their audiences will come together and it will use lesser resources, and energy still generate much higher revenues.

8. Build partnerships with brands

This is a very important point as if a designer is building meaningful partnerships with brands and is found collaborating with the people who are the users of that brand also come to know of the designer through that brand which increases their audience and also helps in capturing new markets which otherwise they would have not acquired.

9. Develop a network

It is a saying “ Your network is your net worth”, it still holds as more people are added to your network, you get more connections, these connections help you know other people which in turn lands you with various opportunities hence always go to meetups and network, do it wherever you can as it will help you in the long term growth aspect.

10. Write guest posts/columns

We already discussed the importance of networking and building partnerships, this is also related to that, as one writes a guest blog on someone else blog and actually helps the reader through their article or even gives the readers a good read they will want to know more about you and start searching for you at that point your website and content comes into place to hold their attention even further, this is a very smart way of making people know about you and your work without any spendings.

The various ways a designer can market themselves in the digital world, these steps will not only help one to establish their digital presence but also in getting organic growth, through the help of keywords and SEO their work can soon reach out to so many people. Also as the artwork needs to be showcased it is really important for the designer to network with people, brands, and their audience to get the best opportunities and help build their brand bigger.
