What is That One Thing That Significantly Improves Your Skin?

The skin is the largest organ in the body and comprises 15 – 20 percent of the total body weight. The skin works as a barrier to protect us from bacterial invasion and other hazardous substances in the environment. So, it is important to take proper care of your skin, so that it can take care of you in return.

As people are becoming more conscious about health and beauty, cosmetology is growing in popularity as a career field for many young enthusiasts. A makeup artist course and other cosmetology courses are not only meant for acquiring beauty and makeup skills, but also getting knowledge to enhance one’s aesthetic health and appearance as well. The basic focus of the makeup artist course is to help students develop knowledge of different beauty products and solutions that are essential for different types of skin.

Everyone has a favourite treatment and beauty products for their skin. But there is no denying that the steps to getting beautiful skin start with nourishing the skin from within. As we all know, beautiful skin is healthy skin. And so, the one thing that can really improve your skin and make it radiant and beautiful is by nourishing it from within.

The older cells on our skin are constantly being replaced by new cells every second. So it is important to supply optimum nutrition to our body and to our skin to support this rapid turnover. Supporting the skin from within is the best way to maintain the health and appearance of your skin. This can be done in many ways and below we’ll show you some important tips that can help you keep your skin healthy inside out.

Drink Water

Our body is over 70% water. So, if you are not drinking enough water, then your body is going to get dehydrated and will make your skin dry.

Skin needs moisture to stay flexible. Dehydration can leave the skin looking tight, dry and slightly grey. It can also cause stronger wrinkles on the skin. Your body needs water to help flush out the toxins from your skin and reduce the likelihood of you getting dry skin or pimples on your skin.

Experts recommend drinking 6-8 glasses of water everyday. If you are going out for work, don’t forget to fill up your water bottle and keep it on your desk. This will help remind you to drink and stay hydrated.

Eat Your Greens

Vegetables and fruits are packed full of powerful antioxidants. These antioxidants help protect the skin from cellular damage that is caused by free radicals. Usually triggered by pollution, smoking and even sunlight, free radicals damage the skin making it look soggy.

Beta-carotene found in vegetables and orange fruits such as sweet potatoes, carrots, lutein, pumpkin, spinach and papaya is important for normal cell development on the skin and preserving healthy skin tone.

Reduce Refined Sugar Intake

Sugar is an inflammatory food. Excess sugar intake can increase insulin levels, which can subsequently increase inflammation in the skin. Since inflammation leads to the formation of acne, when you eat too much food with high sugar content, you may start to see acne on your skin.

If you are worried about aging skin, it is best to avoid excess sugar intake. That’s because excess sugar in the bloodstream can cause a natural chemical reaction known as glycation. Glycation causes collagen fibres to break down and become brittle and stiff, leading to older-looking skin.

Fresh Air

When we stay inside for too long the pores on the skin get clogged, increasing the likelihood of bacteria and pimples. Get yourself out early morning or early evening for some breath of fresh air. Let your body breathe wholly and allow oxygen to enter through your skin. When you do this regularly, you will notice a real Improvement in the quality of your skin.

When you are out in the fresh air, your pores open up and your skin breaths better. This also allows the skin to remove toxins and other waste from the body. As a result, you will experience fewer acne breakouts, irritation and skin imperfections.

Instead of spending a day in the spa, just a few minutes outside in the fresh air will do wonders in maintaining your youthful appearance as well as your mental and physical health.

Quality Sleep

They call it beauty sleep for a reason. During deep sleep, the body begins its repair cycle and regenerates the blood, muscle, skin, and brain cells. When you don’t get adequate sleep, your body will not be able to produce new collagen that your skin needs to stay elastic and prevent it from sagging.

When you get a good night’s sleep, you’ll notice that your skin feels plump and healthy. Getting quality sleep is crucial not only for improving your skin but also for keeping your mind and body healthy and active.

Keeping your skin healthy and beautiful does not necessarily mean purchasing expensive beauty products. By incorporating these simple tips into your daily life, you can give dull and lifeless skin a beautiful, radiant glow.
