“What you light is what you see”
Students of the interior design of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi, went for visiting Light India at Pragati Maidan on 13th October 2018. It is the largest show on lighting and is a great platform for knowledge sharing and networking for the betterment and growth of the lighting industry in India.
Students got a chance to catch up with the changing trends and latest innovations in lighting technologies. They participated in the talk with Industry mentors on the topic of light as art and emotions. The talk enlightened the students on creating spaces with natural light in built-up environments. There were prominent speakers like Sumant Jayakrishnan, Vinayak Diwan, Mrinalini Ghadiok & Mohit Sharma.
The talk revolved around the idea of pivoting the design space around aesthetics and flexibility with natural light in built-up spaces. There was a healthy discussion on the role of climatology in light setting and ways to reduce light pollution.
Also, in order to understand the depth of the products Students took a guided exhibition tour with IIID members that enhance their knowledge about the leading companies in lights, light efficiency savings tips, Indian light manufacturers, guidelines on automated features in lights.
