The Director of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Guwahati Ms. Ushmita Dey has been instrumental in crafting a niche for the design studies enthusiasts in the city. She has pursued her PGD in Marketing Communication Management and has been working in the creative field since 2005. Post proving her mettle in the field of retail, she started working in the sector of design education in 2011. She received the prestigious Award of Excellence by Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week 2011. She believes that “the best way to predict the future is to create it and to make tomorrow beautiful choose a career which gives you the freedom to set your own rules.” With her conscious efforts, JD Institute has become the best design college in Guwahati.

Ms. Sumita Dey Deka

The Director of JD Institue of Fashion Technology Guwahati, Ms. Sumita Dey Deka is a renowned figure in the design circuit of the city. She has done her PGD in Ecology and Environmental Science. Ms. Deka has also pursued diplomas in Textile Design and International Airline Management. She has a strong presence in the design education field with more than 20 years of experience. What further adds to her prowess is the various recognitions she has received over the years. She has been accorded with the Award of Excellence by Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week 2011. Ms. Sumita Dey Deka has pioneered design education in the fashion fraternity of Assam with a steady belief in the fact that “a good education is a foundation for a better future and if you want to secure your future the best investment is in education.”
