Akshra Dalal, Director, JD Institute of Fashion Technology was
recently invited as one of the panelists at the CII Gujarat
EDUCON 2019 held recently at Ahmedabad.
The experts gave the students a glimpse into the dynamics of
the industry, career prospects, and alsospoke about their own
personal journey in their respective professions

The pace at which AI software is merging with our cameras is
unimaginable. In fact, AI-generated images are coming at a time
when we are still in the process of arming ourselves with the
necessary information
The students interacted with actors Sonakshi Sinha, Badshah
and Varun Sharma who visited the campus for the session.
Students unveiled an exhibit to promote vegan leather, and
PETA India, which sponsored the material, informed the
audience about ditching items made with leather and
choosing vegan leather instead.
Acknowledged as India’s largest design event, The Fashion
Awards 2019 also honoured noted personalities within the
fashion and design industry.
The event included fashion collections, exhibits, installations
as well as a 3-D walk-through showcasing the students’
creativity to a panel of distinguished industry experts.
Today, fashion is also about business. It has many aspects
to it. People emphasise entrepreneurship but it is not
always a requirement in my view
Eminent industry stalwarts such as fashion designer
Rina Dhaka, interior designer Lipika Sud, designers
Rimple and Harpreet Narula, interacted with the students
shared their experience and knowledge
about their respective industries.
