As technology continues to advance, our learning experience also evolves. One of the best examples of this advancement is the virtual classroom, where learning can happen from anywhere and at any time. Recognizing the importance of this shift, the JD Institute of Fashion Technology, one of the top design institutes in India, recently organized a webinar educating the youth about the benefits of online education. The webinar aimed to discuss the importance of maintaining a balance while students undertake design as their discipline. The informative session initially gave an overview of the digital infrastructure of the institution and all the learning features available to students.
The main goal of the webinar, which was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, was to give students the added ease of studying from home. A team of software developers worked day and night with JD Institute’s faculties to understand the best possible interface for more interactive online classes and an effective feedback and assessment strategy. The Course Director, Ms Deepti Wadhawan, also spoke on how a student should approach online learning and provided tips on how to maximize learning. To give a brief on some of the tips, students were advised to set up a desk or a designated area with proper seating arrangements, as studying with a lousy posture will affect the attention span.
Students were also advised to ensure that a strong internet signal is available throughout the session to avoid lagging and compromised video quality. While taking notes for an online session, students were advised to avoid typing on a separate word document or minimizing the video browser. Instead, use the note section provided on the portal. The JD Institute of Fashion Technology strongly recommends new students have a look at this session, which can be found on our youtube channel. As the design industry, including fashion and interior design, continues to move towards online education, the JD Institute of Fashion Technology is at the forefront of embracing this shift and providing its students with the best possible learning experience.
