Importance of the Main Door According to Vastu Shastra

According to it, the visibility of the main entrance should be prominent, visible and easily identifiable. In addition to this, add your name and the house number on the door to make it even good. But the Vastu Shastra suggests that you should also have a simple nameplate containing your credentials. Keep in mind that the door should be seven ft in height with a width of at least three ft. Big doors transport in more get-up-and-go into the house.

  • Decoration of area around the main door

It is essential to keep the door clean to have positive energy entered into the house. Spotlessness, particularly around the central doorway, attracts constructive power in the home. Do not keep dustbins, not working chairs or stools, near the main door, cautions. It is believed that the main entrance should be made up of wood or marble because these help in absorbing any kind of negative vibes into the house. Further, you should decorate it with sacred symbols like Om, swastika, cross, etc., and put rangolis on the flooring, as they are well-thought-out favourable and invite good fortune.

  •   Lighting at the main door

It is advised only to have a dazzling light at the entrance but keep away from red-coloured illuminations. The most crucial door should be well-lit in the twilight, and proper light should be there around the main gate.

  •    Decoration at the main door 

It is advised to decorate the entrance with green plants if you find any vacant spaces around the door. Torans are also good quality as decorations for the main door should decorate the main entrance area.

  •   Positioning of the main door 

According to the Vastu Shastra, the main door should open at 90 degrees without any obstacles around it. Also, guarantee that it unlocks in a clockwise direction and that the hinges are oiled regularly, and the door accessories are polished. There should not be any broken material or any other cracked thing around the door because they are not considered suitable for the house.

  •    Nameplate and Vastu

  • East: It is not a preferable placement, but the east approach enhances the family’s power.
  • South-east: Do not choose south-west. It should only be selected when there is no other option.
