1.     The lighting should be right

Artistic lights and fixtures can give a facelift to your living room and how. They are functional as well as pleasant to look at. This style is for people who are willing to experiment and not afraid to mismatch the colors. Chandeliers are a good option in this category.

2.     Nothing beats Wood

These days people are switching to contemporary wooden furniture made from oak, teak, rosewood, and walnut. Wooden furniture is so classic, that it goes out of style, much later than other materials. You can find good replicas of wooden furniture easily.

3.     White

Having white as the color of the walls is a very clever thing to do without spending too much because the neutral color of the walls makes sure that it doesn’t take away the attention from the furniture or the painting that you bought giving away your precious savings.

4.     Have a futuristic approach

Giving your kitchen a futuristic look should be a priority. Your kitchen should have clean and uncluttered lines.  Ditch the curved and fancy cabins and replace them with flat, plain wood ones. If you wish to upgrade, you can get marble or stainless-steel surfaces for your countertops.

5.     Cheers!

You can have an in-built bar, and add some shakers, cocktail glasses, expensive liquor, and ornate decanters to the bar. In fact, you can add bar carts as well, they are quite portable.

6.     Little things matter

Small things do matter so, you can add attention-drawing artwork to your walls. A sizeable painting can make your corner more prominent. In fact, the position of the decorative items can make your living room transform from drab to fab, in no time. However, you should not clutter your walls with art pieces. Buying a couple of expensive things is more convenient, you don’t have to buy several inexpensive things. Less is more, never forget.

7.     Be unique

Skip the mass-produced furniture, if you want your living room to look one-of-a-kind. Visit vintage shops and places like flea markets, you will be surprised at your findings, and that too at affordable rates. Look for furniture that has clean lines and bold patterns.

These days, minimalism is what people are looking for when it comes to decorating their living rooms. Here are some things to keep in mind, that won’t take too much of your effort:

1.     Focus on the functionality, the function should supersede all the factors, it is of utmost relevance.

2.     Minimal ornamentation

3.     Use both traditional and non-traditional materials

4.     Use contrasting materials, juxtaposing is a trend that is here to stay.

These characteristics make this style so appealing to people.

So just make a list and start looking for ideas. Happy design!
