“It doesn’t matter how slow you are, as long as you don’t stop walking or dreaming, so dream my jediiians” Mrs. Rupal Dalal is the Managing director for JD Image Promotions Ltd, the parent company of Jd institute of fashion technology. An institution that is today recognized as one of the pioneers and the major design institute in India, having a national presence with 40 campuses. She firmly believes in the right to quality education and hence has made design education accessible through campuses around India. She was awarded the times power icon award in 2019 for her exemplary contribution to the field of education.
You would often hear her promoting humanity-centric design instead of human-centric design on campus. Mrs. Dalal has always strived to give students the opportunity to of course be better designers but also to be better humans. Her initiatives with World Elders Day, Spastic society, Indian Cancer Society, JAGO, CWEI, etc give students a platform to give back to society. She has been awarded “Smt. Sushila Agarwal Memorial Award” for her exemplary services to senior citizens.
Ms. Dalal has been instrumental in creating the modern field of design studies and in raising awareness of the cultural and social significance of these disciplines.
Under the supervision of Ms. Dalal, JD Institute of Fashion Technology won several awards such as the award for leaders in education by the UK Asian Business Awards at the Congress Hall London. These awards come from the global leaders in Brand equity research and Award. As well as the Best Vocational Education Institute of the Year – Fashion Design at the 7th Indian Education Awards by the Indian Education Congress.
“Look what’s beyond by looking within”, Mr. Harsh Dalal focuses on exploring and assessing what lies ahead for the organisation by looking at how the internal structure of the company organically grows. As the director of JD image promotions. Ltd, he believes in educating the young Indians on futuristic design solutions. He is certain that the Indian design industry has the potential to challenge and succeed in the highly competitive global market if it can infuse the latest technology with creativity and original content creation. His experiences and expertise have been used as examples at multiple business confederations, seminars, and publications. A true leader, his efforts to bring Indian design to a global platform was cemented by the institution's participation at India fashion week London for 4 consecutive years. Mr. Dalal is set to carry forward the legacy of his forefathers in the design industry.
Design is a religion that only leaders follow. A TEDx speaker, Ms. Akshra Dalal is the director for Jd image promotion ltd. She spearheads the academic endeavours of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, in India and abroad. A graduate in luxury brand management from Regents University, London, Ms. Dalal propagates the idea of creating hedonistic sustainability through design at the campus. She has always believed in quality education and keeping the curriculum relevant in a time of rapid change. The team under her supervision has started working on speculative design as an integral part of student learning. To give jediiians access to more global experiences and simulation projects Ms. Akshra has led the London Research Programme in association with the University of Arts London. She has been playing an active part in the expansion of the Academy overseas, bringing a fresh, global vision to the academic structure of the institution. Her take on design has been featured in multiple publications and conferences such as Cosmopolitan India, India today, CII, Hindustan Times, and Business world to name a few.
