Alumni are the pride of college. Alumni are the people who belong to the same institution and they share a bond that connects them well even if they did not attend the college at the same time. It is a beautiful and meaningful connection amongst them and with the Alma mater. JD Institute of Fashion Technology invited its alumni from three different batches to come and interact with the current students through an online session. The vibe, energy, and enthusiasm were extremely high spirited and gaily. The three of them connected so well and were so nostalgic and shared their moments of fun and beautiful experiences at college that they cherish till date.
We had amongst us Kaushik Roy an alumnus of JD Institute of Fashion Technology who Is working as Unit Head Designer with the ace designer of India, Ms Anamika Khanna. He Independently manages the entire unit from designing to sampling and production, to logistics and retail distributions. Just like his talents, his role is limitless, and he performs it to perfection. At college also, he enthusiastically participated in the classroom and events inside and outside the college. He has turned his dream of becoming a fashion designer with sheer determination and brilliance of his work. Secondly, we had amongst us, Prabhleen Kaur, a dynamic, vibrant, and bubbly girl who was always academically oriented at college, determined to reach heights in the field of fashion, is right here with us. A sincere and diligent student always full of energy. She has been consistently working to achieve her goal and has always been acclaimed by her bosses. Versatile and Vivacious, with indomitable spirit, Prabhleen is the store manager with the designer, Ridhima Bhasin. And, we had Ayushi Khatri, an all-rounder who would run at the call of her teacher to do everything and anything, be it academic, a fashion show, an event or a competition outside college or at campus, she would for sure be there standing beside the teachers with a smiling face and a yes for any help. Today, she is a Bollywood celebrity stylist who has styled the likes of Rashmi Desai, Parth Samanth, Milind Soman, Vikas Khanna to name a few. She has worked for reality shows like Bigg Boss, Master chef India, and many more. She has styled for commercials like Supermodel of the year, Myntra, HDFC bank and more.
They talked about their memories at college, with their mentors, faculties and friends. Their memories of the annual fashion awards held at the college were vivid and resplendent with loads of learning and fun. They acknowledged that their learnings at competitions, industry visits and lectures and the Fashion Awards had been extremely helpful in their career journeys after college and were instrumental in gaining success in their respective fields. The college is proud of their achievements and wishes them good luck for their future ahead.
