From Delhi’s fashion weeks to Melbourne’s cultural platforms, Ipshita Collins BSc Fashion & Apparel Technology (2014) represents what a JD Institute education can grow into, when talent meets adaptability and global ambition.
Today, she works as an Arts Program Officer in Melbourne, Australia, leading initiatives that nurture creative expression, community engagement, and inclusive programming across Wyndham’s diverse cultural landscape.
Even before graduating, Ipshita began working with Toabh Talents, Delhi, contributing to runway shows and major fashion weeks. She continued building industry exposure across agencies before relocating to Australia.
Entering a new market came with challenges, smaller networks, limited access, and a different industry structure. Instead of stepping back, she expanded her scope. She took on varied roles, strengthened her understanding of community arts, and transitioned into the cultural sector, where her background in fashion became a unique advantage.
In 2025, Ipshita conceptualised and produced the “Tapestry of Culture Showcase” at Melbourne Fashion Festival, overseeing the show from development to final delivery. The platform reinforced her commitment to fashion as both industry and cultural dialogue.

Programs Driving Impact

Through these initiatives, Ipshita positions culture as something lived and shared, not simply performed.
Her background in fashion continues to inform her work daily, especially in styling, colour theory, textile understanding, and aesthetic storytelling.

Ipshita’s journey demonstrates how fashion education can extend into cultural leadership, international impact, and community-driven creative practice.
If you envision a future that extends beyond geography and beyond conventional roles, your starting point matters.
