On 22nd February, the JD Institute Of Fashion Technology opened its gates for another batch of creative thinkers. Orientation 2022 brought with it a respite from the virtual domain. The physical event took place at the JD Corporate Campus i.e., Hauz Khas Village. Students from all over joined us on this special day where our faculty members introduced them to the JD world. Our Corporate Manager, Ms. Ruchi Madan hosted the event by creating the perfect bridge between the faculty and the students. 

The orientation started with the heartiest welcome message and the JD team soon joined hands in welcoming the new members of the JD family. Every department head was gradually called on the stage wherein they explained various aspects of the course. The interaction started with Mr. Ashish from the Interior Design department taking the stage. He explained the various scope of this domain with a key focus on the industry-centric curriculum. His interaction with the students brought a positive note to this event. He was followed by the HOD of the Fashion Design department, Mr. Ankur Gulati. He presented the students’ work at various events such as the international fashion weeks, The Fashion Awards, etc. He further added to the global collaboration by explaining the London Residential Program and then showcasing the documented images from the projects. This was followed by Ms. Deepti Wadhawan’s (Course Director) presentation on the various collaborations of JD Institute. The students were thrilled to know about our links with global platforms like WGSN, Adobe, etc. Orientation 2022 was just the perfect medium of interaction between the newcomers and the faculty members as the former were acquainted with the various industrial and academic scopes by our Corporate Co-head and Industry Relationships Manager. 

Further adding to this event was the presentation of JD Buddy by the Corporate Co-head. Creating awareness on mental health among the newcomers, Ms. Khattar talked about the implication of this program. To quote Ms. Bhawana Khattar, “The program focuses on self-awareness, emotional intelligence, confidence building, self-motivation, and coping up. It also provides an opportunity to get individual counseling therapy sessions for our students.” The event that was focused on welcoming the new students took a turn towards the deeper and more serious concerns that are often overlooked. The discussion on the JD Buddy program helped the students understand our stance on such issues. 

The orientation received an overwhelming response from the students. A heartfelt interaction and positive participation from both ends made this event just the perfect start to the curriculum.
