Monte Carlo Autumn-Winter Exhibition and The Jediiians’ Brush With Merchandising

From 24th March to 5th April 2022, Monte Carlo Fashion Limited organized an event to showcase their Autumn Winter 2022-23 collection. The event took place in Ocean Pearl Gardenia, Chattarpur, New Delhi and it saw audiences from every corner of the country. What makes this event special for JD Institute of Fashion Technology is the fact that Jediiians had the opportunity to participate in the event which helped them gain experience in the merchandising domain. Our students helped the Monte Carlo team with the booking. From coordinating with different parties to helping in the event display, Jediiians handled a number of responsibilities during the event. This has been a fruitful experience for them as this was hands-on learning in the field of merchandising the students.

Our students utilized the opportunity to its full potential and gained as much experience as possible. When we asked some of the students about their experience at the event, Komal Bajaj, a student from the Fashion Communication postgraduation batch said “I got the knowledge of the luxury collection of Monte Carlo named Luxuria. The interaction with the MNonte Carlo team also helped me understand the varieties of material. I also got the information about the material used to make jackets and t-shirts of the luxury collection which were merino wool, eri silk, and modal cotton. I got to know that the production of the collection will be started immediately and the minimum order value should be ₹2,00,000. I interacted with the designer of the knitwear department and the head of the knitwear department, Mr. Anup Rana.” Another student named Viiksha from our Fashion Communication postgraduation batch said, “we have learnt about the different fabrics and also learnt how to communicate with people professionally. The whole event was so mesmerizing and there was so much to learn. All of our seniors shared their incredible knowledge with us on Textiles, and Designing, and not just that but also helped us to guide on ‘How we can succeed in the different fields of fashion?’, ‘How things work in professional fields and how we all are supposed to work.’, and exactly how much important it is to grow in whatever the field you are working in. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to work here with all of these amazing people.”

The prestigious event was primarily focused on the AW 2022-23 collection. The entire display of the show was focused on three major categories i.e., menswear, womenswear, and kidswear. This exhibition was mainly for the buyers who were interested in booking the collection. As the event came to an end, our students look forward to more such live projects to work on.
