The Environment Social Governance (ESG) Summit, hosted by Prakruti Environment Research & Protection Centre, took place on 28th March 2023, at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. With over 700 delegates, the summit served as a platform for experts, thought leaders, and enthusiasts to come together, exchange ideas, and collaborate on environmental conservation and sustainability.
The summit was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Parshottam Rupala ji, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India. Notable attendees included Mrs. Locket Chatterjee, Member of Parliament, Hooghly, Bengal, Shri Dipsinh Rathod, Member of Parliament, Sabarkantha, Gujarat, Shri Krishna Vidhyarthi Sahu Maharaj, Mahant, Shri Valmiki Ashram, Delhi, Padma Shri Dr. Anuradha Paudwal, and Mrs. Srimathi Shivashankar, Corporate Vice President, HCL Technologies.
The summit focused on generating awareness about the nationwide campaign by Paryawaran Savrakshan Gatividhi called ‘एक पेड़ देश के नाम’ – One Tree for Nation. Shri Gopal Arya ji, National Convenor, Paryawaran Savrakshan Gatividhi, was present to share insights on this important initiative.
Keynote speakers comprised a diverse group of experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders. They discussed critical environmental issues such as Climate Change, Sustainable Living, Biodiversity Conservation, Renewable Energy, and Environmental Policies. These speakers shared their expertise, best practices, and innovative solutions for implementing effective ESG strategies.
The summit marked the launch of “Khadisutra,” an informative book authored by Mr. Nachiiket Joshi. Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision, the book highlights the importance of sustainable fashion, with a focus on Khadi. The launch aimed to raise awareness about sustainable fashion and its role in reducing the environmental impact of the fashion industry.
Students from Jd Institute of Fashion Technology showcased their creativity through a fashion show. The designs featured sustainable fashion made from eco-friendly materials, emphasizing the concept of responsible and ethical fashion. The visually appealing designs aimed to raise awareness about the environmental impact of the fashion industry and promote sustainable alternatives.
The students of Jd Institute of Fashion Technology presented a thought-provoking play that addressed environmental issues. The play urged the audience to take action in protecting the environment, emphasizing the importance of sustainable living and individual responsibility in making a positive impact.
To conclude the student activities, the Jd Institute of Fashion Technology students performed a captivating group dance. The choreography showcased the beauty of nature and highlighted the urgent need to preserve it for future generations. The dance aimed to inspire attendees with a deep appreciation for the environment and encourage them to prioritize its conservation.
The active participation and contribution of the JD Institute of Fashion Technology students played a crucial role in adding a creative dimension to the ESG Summit. Through their fashion show, play, and dance performance, they effectively conveyed the message of environmental conservation and sustainability to a wider audience. Their efforts were highly appreciated by the summit attendees, further emphasizing the importance of youth engagement in promoting a greener and more sustainable future.
