The JD Institute of Fashion Technology recently took its students on a journey to the India Habitat Center in New Delhi. There, they explored the art exhibition of renowned artist, Ms Aarti Zaveri. The institute’s goal is to enhance creativity by exposing students to outdoor mediums and opportunities to interact with experts in the field of art and design.
Eager to learn, the students interacted with Ms Zaveri, a renowned expert in art and design. As Vice-President of the Delhi-based organization “TREES” and a member of AININ (Artist In Nature International Network), Zaveri expresses her love for nature through installations, sculptures, paintings, and site-specific artworks. Zaveri’s work earned recognition, including the ‘Most Prominent Artist’ award at the Seychelles Biennale 2017

Zaveri created the exhibition “The Fragility of Habitat” to showcase her experiences and perceptions from exploring different places, people, and situations. Zaveri grew up in an industrial town and questions the relationship between machines and nature. Through her art, she raises awareness of the delicate balance and the impact of human actions on the environment.
After the exhibition visit, the institute challenged students with a design research project. They asked students to interpret each installation and submit a report. This gave students the chance to showcase creativity and apply what they learned.

The students’ design research project results were outstanding. They loved the entire experience and gained valuable knowledge. The JD Institute exposes students to various outdoor mediums to enhance creativity and provide opportunities to interact with experts in art and design. These experiences inspire students to think critically about their surroundings and the impact of their actions on the environment.

The JD Institute strives to enhance creativity and inspiration by exposing students to outdoor mediums and experts in the field of art and design. The students’ visit to the Aarti Zaveri exhibition and participation in the design research project demonstrates this commitment. Through Zaveri’s art, students gained valuable experience and inspiration. The institute will continue to provide such opportunities, promoting creativity and critical thinking through art and design.
