Figure Out The Best Way to Mix And Match Your Jewellery

Are you attempting to determine the best way to mix and match your jewellery for various occasions and circumstances so that it complements your style and makes you feel well-dressed? JD Institute is here to help you start creatively mixing and matching your jewellery like a pro with our top tips. Let’s get started.

Choose A Starting

Begin by deciding on a main piece of jewellery to wear on a specific day or with a particular outfit. This is a good place to start when it comes to accessorizing. You have two choices here: a more subtle piece that will blend in with the other pieces you’ll mix and match it with or a more striking statement piece that will stand out as the focal point once you’re done.

Layering The Jewellery

If you’re going to layer jewellery, it’s usually best to concentrate on one part of the body. Layering bracelets, necklaces, and rings in your focal point, whether it’s your neck, wrists, or fingers, is a great idea.

If a necklace is your starting point, consider layering various necklaces with it. If it’s a pin, layer it on your fingers or maybe your wrist on the same side. That doesn’t mean you can’t wear tiny jewellery pieces elsewhere; just keep them discreet, so they don’t distract from your focal point.

Wearing a jumble of identical bracelets, such as a collection of bangles with various designs or colours that jangle as you walk, is a good idea. Alternatively, choose one standout item and combine it with a series of more subdued designs in the form of a bracelet or bangle.

Layered necklaces come in a variety of lengths, ranging from choker to opera or longer. Choose an odd number of necklaces (3 or 5 is ideal) with different or adjustable sizes, but two necklaces will suffice in some instances. Wear necklaces that contrast in terms of form, colour, or texture. Alternatively, pick a focal piece that stands out, and the others would be more subdued.

To feel well dressed, you don’t have to wear a piece of jewellery on every appropriate body part: sometimes less is more (and sometimes more is perfect – it all depends on your sense of style and the occasion).

You may still have a central focal point that you can accessorize with more subtle bits. Alternatively, you can put together a look with a variety of complementary parts, none of which stand out but all of which work together to make you look well-dressed. These parts may be designed to fit, or they could be designed to be unique but have slight similarities.

If you want to wear a coordinated look, don’t be afraid to wear matching jewellery sets with the same or very similar designs for earrings, necklaces, rings, and so on.

Moon and star patterns in sterling silver with marcasite gemstones are part of a matching jewellery range.

Wearing matching pieces was once considered unfashionable in some circles, but luckily those days are over. When it works for you, you should enjoy wearing matching jewellery pieces. Wearing a matching set of jewellery, in particular, can look great for more formal occasions, but it can also look great when you’re dressed more casually.

Wear the same gemstone in plain earrings, necklaces, and ring designs to be more discreet while pairing jewellery pieces:

Even, Do Not Be Afraid Of Failing To Match

Wearing pieces that are completely at odds with one another might work for you and your outfit. It’s worthwhile to practice in front of a mirror. To see what works for you, experiment with different colors, metals, forms, and design aesthetics. If clashing isn’t your thing or won’t work for the occasion, look for pieces with a similar aesthetic but aren’t identical.

You could, for example, wear the sunburst amulet necklace with plain silver eye amulet stud earrings and an amulets bracelet. The sunburst amulet will provide a subtle focal point in this case, with its bright yellow citrine and gold setting, but it will blend in beautifully with the simple silver designs.

You can wear different metals comfortably, even if you’re going for a more subtle mixed and matched look. The opal and solid gold band, for example, would look great with sterling silver rings or bracelets.

Necklaces in sterling silver and gold that can be layered are ideal for mixing and matching.

However, if you have a collection of jewellery that is all the same metal colour and looks amazing together, go for it. Wearing all silver or all gold jewelry with an outfit can be very effective.

Assembling The Whole Project

It’s time to start experimenting with bringing your look together once you’ve selected a piece of jewellery as your starting point, determined whether you’ll be focusing on layering one part of the body or not, and considered how matchy-matchy or otherwise you’d like to be.

Put yourself in front of a mirror and experiment with different combinations of parts to see what works best for you. This is a perfect time to go through your jewellery box and try on items you haven’t worn in a long time (don’t forget to clean them!), as well as think about any holes in your collection you’d like to fill.
