What Skills Make You Unique in The Fashion Designing Field

Fashion designing refers to the art of beautifying clothes with unique clothes construction, designs and accessories. Have an Eye for Fit on the Body

You should have an eye as to how a garment should fit on as a person be it, man or woman. You should be able to make out if even a quarter inch is off from the fitting which will help you a lot in being a good designer. 

Have a Talent for Colour and Style

The word “talent” is especially used as these two things are not that easy to learn. It is something that every designer should possess for example- you should be able to say this colour is too red or too blue or how the colours should be tweaked so that it looks better, and this comes with experience so make sure you have as much practical experience as possible.

Display Stamina and Determination

No matter if you are working for yourself or for a company, working for long hours of 16-17 hours straight is normal in this industry and it never ends, if yoy don’t possess the passion or determination towards it, you will become irritated which will reflect in the quality of work that you do

Problem-Solving Skills

This field requires quick actions on situations like when the fabric you wanted didn’t come on time or something came up that is a matter of urgency etc, you need to display out of the box thinking or creativeness to maintain that reputation or to be successful in this career

Ability to Multitask

To become a good fashion designer, you need to be great at multitasking for example- most of the fashion designers work on around 5 seasons together such as approving fall production strike off, sourcing fabric for the spring line etc

Ability to Work Well with Others

As a fashion designer, you will need a lot of people to work in the process due to which you should possess the ability to work well with others for the smooth functioning of the process or for delivering what you promised etc

Detach Your Emotions

This is another important skill, as it is really important to detach your emotions as there might be something that you like but the customer doesn’t so make sure you fulfill the vision of the customer or the person you are designing for
