HERMES EXHIBITION

Hermes is a French luxury fashion brand established in 1837, specializing in leather, lifestyle accessories, home furnishings, perfumery, jewellery, watches and ready-to-wear. Since the 1950s, its logo is of a Duke carriage with horse. Hermès has remained faithful to its humanist values. Hermès’ leathers come from all over the world. The freedom to create, the constant search for beautiful materials, and the aesthetic of functionality all combine together to produce Hermès, a house of objects. Hermès is dedicated to keeping the essential element of production in France through its 42 workshops and to developing its network of 310 stores in over 49 countries. Axel Dumas, a sixth-generation family member, has been Hermès CEO since 2013.

The exhibition of Hermes France Museum in India has come with a theme ‘Rouges Hermès’. India is the third country in the world to host this exhibition event.

The college was invited to the exhibition. The exhibition showcased the evolution of the brand. The products on display were from vintage to contemporary. The tour guides explained each product from the stage of conceptualization to the final stage, its year of production.

With a spectrum of twenty shades, from vermilion to magenta and from bright red to soft red, Hermès never fails to incorporate this colour. Thanks to skillfull artisan tanners and Émile Hermès, who was the third generation president of the maison, red has been incorporated to a wide range of designs.

The tour of the exhibition was an experiential journey for the students.
